April 7 – Exercise Journal

For those of you not in the know I have been nursing an injured back for the last week and a half. Lots of rest and no exercise. Today I finally started back up…slowly. I started out with The FIRM’s Slim and Sculpt Yoga hosted by Allie Del Rio. She is by far my favorite FIRM instructor, so it was really nice getting back on track with her leading the way. I followed it up with a 1 mile run. Not exactly a long distance, but I want to do 3 miles outside tomorrow and I knew 2 on the treadmill today would probably make me too sore to head out the door tomorrow. Feels great to be back to moving again.

Jan 25 – Exercise Journal

Tonight I did Tracie Long Training’s FIRM Your Core with Susan Harris.  Coincidentally Susan also led the workout I did with the FIRM yesterday.  This one I really enjoyed.  I burned about 176 calories, but considering the workout really focused on the core and my bum was really sore from my run yesterday it was still a REALLY good burn.  I can’t wait to see what I do with this workout next time.

Jan 24 – Exercise Journal

This morning I did the FIRM’s Time Crunch Workout. I was looking forward to a total body, heavy weight workout, but unfortunately I didn’t like this one. Maybe I was expecting too much from it, but I didn’t finish the workout feeling very satisfied. I didn’t get my heart rate up like I wanted to and most of the upper body work seemed to center around the shoulders. I wanted to work the triceps and biceps. No lying chest work. No leg presses either. I spent 45 minutes on this workout and only burned 221 calories. Oh well. I plan to run tonight after work, so I have that to look forward to.

EVENING UPDATE: Checking back in this evening with 3 miles ran on the treadmill.  That gives me an additional 385 calories burned.  I previewed my workout for tomorrow while I ran.  I will just sum it by saying, “Owe!”

So, my second work out of the day was a no show. I still had a great burn this morning, so I am not going to complain. My arms might next time I have a heavy weight workout with the upper body though, lol.

On to the food journal…

Morning:
Whole Wheat Pancakes 5 pts
Sugar Free Pancake Syrup 0.5 pts
1 cup grapes 1 pt
Sargento Reduced Fat Mozzarella Stick 1 pt
Afternoon:
6 inch Subway Turkey Sub with Cheese 5 pts
6 Potato Chips 1.5 pts
2 Pepperidge Farm Cookies 3 pts
Kashi Honey Almond Crunch Granola Bar 2 pts
1 cup cherries 1 pt
Dinner:
1 1/2 servings Easy Chicken Tetrazzini 8 pts
1 WW Giant Fudge Bar 1 pt
Snack:
Hershey 100 Calorie Chocolate Covered Pretzels 2 pts
Whole Wheat Matzo Board with All Natural Jam 1.5 pts
1 cup cherries 1 pt
Provided I didn’t miss anything in copying my menu over that should be 34.5 pts. 4 of those points can be swapped for Activity Points, which still brings me over my 6.5 pts. :/ I didn’t feel like I ate that much food. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Jan 23 – Exercise Journal

Today my rotation called for Tracie Long Training: Better Burn Better Buns and The FIRM’s Jiggle Free Arms. I am checking in so far today with TLT:BBBB done. This was my first time doing this workout and I really enjoyed the challenge. I have finished every TLT workout so far looking forward to the next time I do it so that I can challenge myself even more. I burned 370 calories with this workout. I plan to do JFArms this evening after NCIS. I will check back in when it is done.
