Produce and Finger Nails Section

Thursday, February 20th, 2003

Mom and Dad are finally on their way home. Can’t wait! It means the snow will finally all go away and we will finally have food in the house. Real food! Not peanut butter and jelly gram crackers or pizza english muffins. I am really looking forward to this. I know I am pathetic, but I hate the grocery store. If I am there with someone else I don’t mind it, but if I have to push a cart with food for myself I can’t stand it. There are the people that get in your way, mostly small children with inattentive parents. Then there is the lady that stops in the produce section to clip her finger-nails. I know, sounds outrageous, but this actually happened to us…just ask WinterRaven. When I do get my own house (one year and counting) I plan on shopping at Metro after midnight. I may not have the leisure of the bakery and the lunch meat counter, but I won’t have to deal with annoying people. I think it is worth it 😉

Sick

Thursday, February 20th, 2003

I’ve found my dream car. And here it is.

I ended up calling out of work sick today. Saturday night, actually more like Sunday morning,
I got a migraine that wouldn’t quit. I am feeling much better now, but I am really tired, which
doesn’t work out when you have a long drive to get to and from class. So I am not going tonight. I
am going to rest and watch some TV so that I can get this thing to go away so that I don’t have to worry about it coming back to haunt me.

I have been doing a lot of work on SkullDotOrg lately, including a new layout for the BLOG Archives and what I have lovingly called “A Skull for All Seasons”, which calls the top right hand corner of the page home.

Snow Bound Pt 2

Monday, February 17th, 2003

It got too dark last night to keep taking pictures,
but I did manage to squeeze out (barely) a 12 hour time difference shot of both cars.
Coincedently both cars still look the way they do in the pictures from this morning. The snow
on the front porch is up to my waste as you go a matter of feet past the door, so I can’t really
shovel it all by myself. Worked from home today and plan to do it again tomorrow morning. Mom
and Dad should be getting in tomorrow night, and hopefully between now and then we will see a snow
plow and actually be able to get off our street.

Snow Bound

Sunday, February 16th, 2003

Mom and Dad flew to Disney last Friday. I have been
keeping them posted on the weather, but they didn’t head my warnings. They are now snowed-in
in Disney World. Granted there are much worse places that you can be snowed in, but Dad starts
his new job on Tuesday. The earliest flight they could get is 4:30 PM Tuesday. Mom I think is
secretly celebrating, but Dad is not very happy. What a way to start a new job.

Every time I look at Dad’s car I laugh. They are expecting 18 to 24 inches of snow for our area.
Dad’s car is not that tall. With snow drifts I expect it to completely disappear. So here I am
going to keep a picture log showing the progress of Dad’s car disappearing. (After 5:00 PM
it got too dark to take any pictures without putting on snow gear and trecking out the door, so
you will have to trust me when I say that PT Cruiser is not gone, and the Mini is only being
saved by the wind.)

before we lose the Mini.

V-Day with Bessie

Friday, February 14th, 2003

So it’s Valentine’s day, woo-hoo. I plan on spending it with the love of my life, my computer. I may also invite out friend BBQ Chicken Cheese steak to join us for dinner. I have some cookies to program for my Servlet and JSP class, so I am sure the evening will go by quickly. I am hoping the snow is bad enough that class gets cancelled…keep your fingers crossed. However, the weather does need to clear up in time for my father to fly home on Sunday so that he can start his new job on Tuesday.

I learned something new at work today by accident. If you are in MS Access and you have a table open you can select rows and using file send to, only send out the rows you have highlighted. I really had no idea you could do that. Forms, Reports and VBA I can do, but I didn’t know that.

A special thank you out to Joe and Ange who brought my Rob Zombie collection to new heights yesterday with the addition of some awesome toys.
