Burnt

Wednesday, October 29th, 2003

Thank you to whoever burned the popcorn and set off the fire alarm. I am no longer hungry, and now I am a little cold from standing outside. Reallllly appreciate it.

CORRECTION: It was a burnt bagel. They all smell the same once they start smoking.

Hockey Mike

I had something that I thought was really great to blog about yesterday and it has of course slipped my mind. Unfortunately that is forcing me to bore you with the regular goings-on in my life.

Tonight my brother has another play-off game for his Roller-Hockey league. Their first games was Saturday and was nail-biter. The scoring was going back and forth and back and forth. It went into sudden death overtime when my brother’s team got a great goal in and the game was over. It sounds like tonight is going to be another really great game. Best of luck to the Hounds!

I started my Christmas shopping. I have had my Mom done for several months now, but just got started on everyone else last week. I now have two more person done and have started on two others. Still scrounging for ideas for everyone else. I like to get started early just because I hate fighting crowds for stuff. I will go shopping in the last few weeks before Christmas, but it isn’t typically for me to pick up presents for people, rather to accompany other people while they pick up presents. It seems that I bring good luck to people in finding those primo parking spots during the holidays. Don’t believe me? Just ask Winteraven about our wonderful shopping experience last year. Front row at three different stores BABY!

Congrats to Mom

Friday, October 24th, 2003

It finally happened. We knew it was coming one day, but we just didn’t know when. Mom is now an employee of Walt Disney World. Not just the Disney Store, no, she actually has a job at the parks. She is basically seasonal, so she will be going down and working probably just a few weeks each year, but she is probably one of the happiest people alive right now.

On a sad note, Dad just told me that an employee of Bank of America was killed today. Typically when the branches are opening there is supposed to be two employees there, but for a branch in Georgia that wasn’t the case today. The second employee was running late and when she arrived she found the keys hanging in the door and the other employees stuff strewn about the lobby. They went and called the police who went inside and found the employee shot 3 times in the chest. My Dad’s counterpart had to call the spouse of the person killed and tell them what happened. That to me would be one of the hardest things you could possibly ever have to do in your life. My heart goes out to all those involved.

Count Chocula

Count Chocula cereal tastes better in milk. Just open a box and grab only a marshmellow and throw it in your mouth and you will understand what I mean.

BOTS: Round 2

Thursday, October 23rd, 2003

SPAM BOTS have taken me head on and for now they have won. I am still conquering them at SDO, kicking them out of the forumz one-by-one, but they caused K80K.com to be suspended last Thursday. That to me is unacceptable. I have taken down the blog software and removed the archives. I plan to find some new, more secure, blog software and replace the blog soon, but for now you are just going to get some typed out in HTML. Apologies for the lack of being able to comment, but I am sure you understand.
If you are here to see pictures of my trip this past weekend to the FIRM studio you can check them out here.
