Love my Grandma

Wednesday, November 26th, 2003

Can I just say that my Grandmother is adorable. I mean when she is talking about about taking my aunt to the “Hair Cutlery” and my other aunt flying to “Minenapolis” I can’t help but smile.

Good Grades for the Geek

Friday, November 21st, 2003

Well I got a 100 on my last assignment for my Enterprise Computing in Java class despite the fact that I was accidently used a setInt() instead of a setString() and used Bean Managed Persistance rather than Container Managed Persistance. This is the point where I would look at Tyrant and my Father and through their glazed over stares one of them would mutter, “You do realize we have no idea what you are talking about.” Oh the life of a geek.

It feels like they turned the air on in our building today. Add to that the fact that we can’t drink the water in our building because of a water main break and I think we have the perfect recipe for them to send us home. Unfortunately upper-management doesn’t agree.

I finished Heretics of Dune this morning. I must say I really enjoyed this one. I think right now I am considering it my favorite, but that may be because it is the freshest in my mind. I need to let it absorb for a week before I can choose a favorite from the Dune series. In the meantime I am on to ChapterHouse Dune.

Heretics

Thursday, November 20th, 2003

Whew what a week. All I really have to say is busy, busy, busy. Since I wasn’t able to take a break or vacation on my own my body decided to create a sell-imposed vacation and made me sick yesterday. Either that or it was the barometric pressure reeking havoc on my sinuses. You choose.

I’m still working hard on Heretics of Dune every minute I get. I have a little less than 50 pages to go, so I am hoping to be finished come this weekend. In the “stuff I am working hard on” category you will also find my final project for my Enterprise Computing in Java course. I have until December 10th, but would rather not be trying to cram a lot of work in at the last minute, so I am trying to work on it steadily now. Fingers crossed I can get everything ready and working in time to do some reviewing for my final exam which also will be falling on December 10th.

Mike is in court today for the “hockey incident”. Fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Hacker Justice

Friday, November 14th, 2003

Being somewhat biased, I think he should have gotten off, but they finally sentenced the guy that hacked the Al-Jazeera web site and put up the American Flag instead. Read about it here.
