Tendons and Wheezing

Monday, June 21st, 2004

So I went on Friday and saw the doctor I walked out with some anti-inflammatories and a referral for my acheilles tendon and some anti-biotics for my cold. So far so good.

My new job search is on again and full steam ahead this time. I received a call from Lockheed Martin Friday after I left and called them back today. Hopefully I will hear from them before I leave today. I went up to their website and saw some promising looking positions with their company for Application Programmers.

I plan on going out one night this week and buying a patio set. Then I should be just a couple book shelves away from finally being “moved into” my house, lol.

I’d also like to welcome to the world Peter Jacob Capan who was born at 2:30 AM this morning. Congratulations to mom Kim, dad John and big brother Justin Matthew.

Ankles and Ambers

Thursday, June 17th, 2004

I added the Official Amber Alert Ticker to my website today because I feel like the program is something important and could help save lives.

When walking around IKEA last night I started to notice a rubbing sensation in my ankle. I have a call into the doctor because what I have researched on the web says that I may have tendonitis in my Akilles Tendon. Hopefully that is not the case, but we will have to wait and see what the doctor says tomorrow.

I went out last night and bought some bookcases so that I can finally get my office in order. I have to get a couple more, but this is a start. Maybe I can start using my closet of things other than boxes full of books now.

I have a couple friends from high school stopping by for dinner tomorrow night. It should be fun because both of these girls, Lori and Dana, were my best friends and we all sort of grew apart. We all own our own houses now and are at much different places in our lives, so we are going to spend some time getting to know each other. Lori and I have stayed in touch through e-mail and just yesterday she asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. I am really excited about that and am now using it as inspiration to lose some extra weight I am lugging around. I have until July 2005, so I should be nice and built by then. Provided my ankle doesn’t slow me down.

Summer Cold

I swear, I have blown my nose so many times you would think I’d be seeing ear wax and brain matter coming out into my tissue. Blech!

Memories of Reagan

Friday, June 11th, 2004

When I was young and learning about this world I remember learning about a very powerful man. Not growing up in a highly spiritual family I remember this man being all powerful, almost a God of our nation. There were no political parties or elections, there was just this one man that was our leader and in my young eyes I thought he always would be. That man was Ronald Reagan.

I laugh at myself now when I think of how young I was. I do remember thinking that Reagan was always going to be president. He wasn’t the first president of my lifetime, but he was the president that I grew up with. Back then I didn’t understand all that he accomplished in office, but to me he was the face of our country. I remember watching the Challenger take off from the ground and I remember him coming on television to talk to us about what happened.

With his passing I am finding myself obsessed with reading articles about his lifetime. I am catching up with all the things I lived through but was too young to truly understand. There are lots of things I will never know about those times, but I owe it to myself and to my memories of President Reagan to at least try. RIP Mr President.

What’s that fishy smell?

Tuesday, June 8th, 2004

Well, I walked into Petco last night and the girl tested the water sample I brought. The PH, Chlorine and Ammonia were all ideal. So we both concluded it was the tank that killed them. Either by them becoming distressed at being able to see each other and not attack each other or the current created by the aeration prevented them from properly breathing.

I read somewhere last night that a tank should really sit for two weeks before you put fish into it because it gives the tank time to grow some good bacteria. So for now I am letting the tank sit. In two weeks I am going to go to Exotic Aquatics on Waltham Woods Road and have them help me select the perfect fish for my tank.
