Sorry…

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

For those of you that are not coming through my root web domain (www.k80k.com) good for you.  Anyone trying to access the page from www.k80k.com is not making it.  My web host made a change to the IP address for the server my website is hosted from and something got hosed.  I have contacted them and hopefully the issue will be resolved shortly.  🙂

Counting Down

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

I am not counting down to the big day.  My first and probably only full marathon.  It is 16 days from now.  Wow…so close.  I ran 5 1/4 miles this morning.  Was heading for 6, but I ran out of time and ended up getting work late.  It felt good.  I decided that from now till race day I am just going to alternate run days with yoga days to keep myself loose and relaxed.  I think it will work out well.  😀

Stress Levels are Slowly Dropping

Monday, December 24th, 2007

Sorry ladies and gents, stress has been keeping me from my posting.  Which is weird because normally writing in my blog is a good stress reducer, but because part of the stress has been work/computer related I haven’t felt like doing anything online that required any true brain power.

This past weekend was my last pre-taper long run in my training for my full marathon.  I never hit 18 or 20 miles and it has been weeks since I ran 16.  I have decided to drop my time goal for the full and to instead just enjoy the Disney marathon for what it is.  I will stop and get pictures with characters and walk whenever I feel like it.  I will be with Mr. Dave and I know he will ensure that we get to the finish before the 7 hour cut-off.  It will be fun and I will get me medal and that is all that matters.  When it is over running will be fun again.  I can work on improving my half marathon time.

Tillie had her first day at Dog Day Care on Friday.  It was pretty amusing watching her on camera.  I could pick her out from the bald spot on her back and lack-there-of in the tail department.  During their first play period she spent most of her time holding up the fence, but during their second play period she spent some time moving about.  She slept pretty soundly that night.  I can’t tell if she liked it or not though.  I will have to wait and see how she reacts when I try to take her back.  I might try to do that on Friday.  If it doesn’t work out she will be staying home with one of her dog walkers staying with her overnight.

I can’t believe Christmas is here already.  I don’t feel ready.  My finances have been low because of dog surgeries, car insurances, HOA fees, prescriptions…you name it I paid it this month.  I didn’t get to spend money on others, which is what I really like to do at this time of year because people can’t argue with you as much for spending money on them.  I tried to put more thought into the gifts I bought for the few people that are lucky enough to get them.

Tomorrow I plan to get up and run in the morning.  Then I will take the dog for a walk and give her a good brushing before taking her to her grandparents for lasagna and family time.

I have gotten a few presents so far and they have all been in support of my marathon.  Ms. Peggy got me some sports beans, almonds and dark chocolate.  The later two being pertinant in my marathon recovery.  ;)  Mrs. Brenda got me a shirt to wear post marathon that I absolutely love!  It is a green t-shirt with Kermit on it and across the bottom is says “I DID IT!  26.2 WDW Marathon.”  I can’t wait to wear it around the park when I am done my race.

Ok, I think that is everything I needed to get everyone caught up on, lol.  I want to now with everyone the Happiest of Holidays.  May everyone stay safe and warm.

Reason #189 My Neighbors Think I am Insane

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Tillie had surgery on her back this week to remove a chronically inflammed cyst.  She has a large panel on the on side of her back shaved with probably a 3-4 inch incision.  When I picked her up from the vet they sent me home with orders to not let her run or jump and not to get her sutures wet.  Well of course it is raining this morning.  I threw on a fleese and grabbed an umbrella heading out the door and trying my best to keep the umbrella over the dog so that her sutures don’t get wet.  So here I am walking the dog when an umbrella keeping her dry.  :P  The HOA might be trying to have me committed soon.

Treadmill Season Begins

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Today was the official start of treadmill season for me.  That’s right, we got our first snow fall.  This morning I spent 4 miles on the treadmill.  I need to work on my treadmill running ability so that I can get my long distances in when the weather is sloppy.  I am going to try for 18 miles again this weekend and they will all be speant running in place.  :P  Might need to go buy some new movies on DVD so that I have something to keep my interest for the 4 hours that I am staring at the screen.Â
