Resting at the Movies
Thursday, January 24th, 2008Today is a rest day. I need it. After returning to my strength training yesterday it feel like someone took a baseball bat to my hind quarters. Ouchie!
Since I am not working out today I am going to take Dad to the movies to see “Spirit of the Marathon“. Should help motivate him for his training for his first half next January.Â
Still working on my training schedule. I decided I am going to train for the Minnie Marathon like it is a half. Maybe that will help me with getting my pace back down. I don’t think I will PR at Minnie, but I would at least like to be close to my time from 2 years ago. To reach 410 in 16 weeks I need to average 25 miles per week. Substract the 7 miles I will spend walking me dog each week that means I need to run at least 18 miles. I plan to run 3 days a week, FIRM 2 days a week and do some yoga 1-2 days a week. I want to work back up to alternating 8 and 10 miles for my weekend long runs. That will ensure I am in half marathon form whenever one comes up that I want to do.
