My first half

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

I am not sure if finishing a half-marathon officially qualifies you to fall under the term “Marathoner”, but if it does then that means that I am a marathoner! Yes, I officially completed my first marathon yesterday and if feels wonderful. I promised Joe full coverage for SDO, so I will let you know when I have the blog done and I will direct you to SDO for all the details. In the meantime here are the official results:

Official Time Overall

2:34:27 3158/3869 424/533 1646/2218

My overall pace was 11:47 min/miles, which is fantastic because my goal had been 12:00 min/miles. A far cry from my pace at the Minnie Marathon, but then again I went 4 miles further and I had some REALLY TOUGH hills to conquer.

Bots: Round 1

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

So I just spent about 45 minutes trying to clean the bots out the forumz at Skullz.org. Then I come to my own site and realize that no comments can be left anymore. I check my space and apparently the comments script had been marked as “Abused”. I reinstated it and checked my control panel to see a butt load of comment attempts had been blocked. So now it seems the bots are attacking threads where commenting isn’t even enabled to the point where my admin is taking away my files. Thanks bots. Appreciate it. If it happens again I will probably have to resort to disabling commenting alltogether. Fingers crossed that it doesn’t come to that.

This weekend is my first 1/2 marathon. A little nervous, but not too bad. More excited than anything else. Wish my luck! I am sure I will report back with the results.

Next weekend I am flying out to the FIRM studios for a FIRM Beleiver’s Trip weekend. I think it is a going to be a lot of fun, although probably tiring as well since we will be working out like 6 times a day, lol. Looking forward to it none-the-less. This is my first vacation by myself, so I guess I am officially a “big girl”!

Run and eat, but no sleep

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

I totally can’t sleep tonight. It has nothing to do with having too much on my mind. I just have too much energy. I am actually a little hungry too. I think I burned too many calories right before bed. Since I am training for my half marathon I need to run 10 miles on my long runs. Because of the long drive on Saturday and the overall urge to vedge on Sunday I missed my long run and had to move it to a weekday. I ran 10 miles this evening finishing up at around 7 and it must just be too late. I am thinking I am going to need to eat a snack in order to get back to sleep. Decisions, decisions.
